Skrastiņš & Dzenis represented the client in a damages case arising from breach of Latvian Competition law

Skrastiņš & Dzenis represented the client in a damages case regarding breach of competition law unauthorised acquisition and use of our client’s business secret.

The dispute emerged between our client and another company operating in the same market, where the latter, in order to prevail over our client, illegally acquired and used in their favour our client’s business secret. As a result, our client suffered damages and brought a claim before the court.

Skrastiņš & Dzenis team has represented the client in all three court instances. Pursuant to the Supreme court’s judgement delivered in May 2018, the court of second instance shall have to adjudicate the case by assessing the plaintiff’s arguments.
